Cleaning Outdoor Patio Furniture

Trying to choose the right type of outdoor patio furniture is not always an easy decision for many of us. But once we have we are pleased with what we have and we take advantage of the fact that we are able to lounge outside by the pool in comfortable chairs and maybe even a couch or a bar where we can serve our favorite drinks during the summer.

The only way that we are going to be able to enjoy this furniture is if we do what we can to make sure that they are well maintained. There are many steps that we need to take when cleaning outdoor patio furniture. Without the right maintenance it will fall into disarray and will become stained and worn out.

When you notice that your furniture is starting to have dirt stains or mold than it is time to clean it off with some soap and water. Take a bucket full of warm water and mild soap. First you will need to spray down the furniture with the hose. Afterwards you can wash off all of the stains. Make sure to be gentle because you do not want to pull any paint off. Once it is washed you will need to rinse it off with the hose and dry it with a towel.

Removing Cobwebs

The worst thing to have on your outdoor furniture besides stains are cobwebs. Use a broom to remove the cobwebs that are on top of or underneath the furniture. The last thing you want is a spider crawling over you when you are trying to read your favorite book.

Sometimes it is impossible to keep the paint from chipping off. When this happens you can always refinish the furniture. When you have wood furniture you can sand down all of the scratches and apply a wood finish. With other types of patio furniture you can simply clean it off and then apply more paint to cover up the chipped portions of it.
